On the prowl

I got bored. After my fourth attempt at drawing something satisfiying I gave up. So I decided to make a few sketches of a character I had in mind for a few days now. Remember C.J.? http://www.sheezyart.com/view/1743793/ My human char I drew as an anthro? He is a shapeshifter and this tiger is his shapeshifting form. Actually he is more white, with just a few striped in his face, on his lower back and tail.
I wanted to draw a realistic tiger since I always fail at drawing felines. So I studied a tiger anatomy tutorial and some pics. Than I drew some sketches that turned out rather nice. I know that besides the face he did not really look like a realistic tiger, because he is way to muscular. But he is meant to look like that.
After inked it, I thought I should try some other coloring styles so I tried gradient shading. And although I am not that satisfied with it, because I rushed it since I never expected it to turn out nice, it turned out really nice. I should practise this more.

PS: I know the anatomy sucks at some parts, but I tried a bit of forshortening. Wasn't that successfull, but I like it.
