She had never imagined that when she fell through the water that she'd literally fall all the way through it... and the ground, too. Where on Earth was she. Maybe she was dead and this was the after life.
Still, it felt far too real - especially whatever it was she was sitting on. Maybe she should start there.
She opened her eyes slowly and felt her face heat up when she saw what she was on. It was a man, though he didn't appear human. The ears were fuzzy and elongated and his eyes were the color of the sun as it was rising.
"I know I'm irresistible, but even I never expected to have some youngling throw herself at me. Guess this should teach me not to sleep out in the open anymore."
Oh dear God, what had she gotten herself into?
