I wanted to do a really forceful (originally very Frazetta-inspired) picture of Ansen. Even though most of the time he's looking like a retard or singing or vomiting or whatever he does, he's a little bit... not right in the head when it comes to destroying undead. As in. He kind of goes a little crazy.
Originally all of those monsters were going to be zombies. Then I started drawing each one differently until I got too lazy. Then I just started throwing mouths all over the place. My favorite is the pile of flesh-pudding in the middle. Jesus, what IS that thing. I also had to stop myself from drawing a tentacle monster right near Amelia. That would have changed the meaning. Just a little bit.
Matured for nipples, disturbing imagery, and lack of pants.

You know, Ansen has some personal shortcomings, but slaughtering legions of the demonic and undead isn't one of them. Infact, if I remember correctly, he's very good at that.
This picture portrays another side of Ansen that you rarely see, and I love it. Showing the badassery of an otherwise squeemish character is always really nice. The monsters are are really well done, and the placement is even better. I think this is probably one of my favorites by you, if for nothing else, the tension level you feel from it. I would love to see this with colors and extensive gore.
It sort of reminds me of that old LoZ: OoT poster with Link and Shiek.
