"Jazz...!"
The young assassin gasped, breaking out of his horridly vivid dream. The pained cry had pulled him away from the nightmarish images that haunted him each night. It had been so real, so real that he could have sworn that the villainous Seth had been standing before him, laughing evilly and mocking his efforts to kill him once and for all. Slowly, his perceived world melted away, revealing the blurred shadows of a bedroom that surely wasn't his own, and for a moment he was completely confused until he recognized it to be Ringo's. As he was looking around, something brushed against, his knee. "No..." Jazz whispered, suddenly very unwilling to find out what it was. This instant felt all too familiar, and he feared what he would see. Another tap---this time accompanied by a faint, raspy groan. Holding his breath, he slowly turned his head down to look, only to be filled with a horrifying pain of confirmation.
Laying haphazardly on the floor, in a growing pool of blood, his beloved ritualist was gazing sadly up at him, the light of life slowly fading from his eyes. His mouth was open, trying to speak, but the liquid crimson stopped all words from coming, dribbling out the corners of his mouth. His body was littered with slash and stab wounds which bled openly and freely. Jazz, still standing over his dearest friend's body, saw that his hands were stained red and still gripping the knives in question. Dropping them, he cast about, feeling helpless, guilty, and increasingly ill. "I'm sorry Ringo..." he whispered, turning around to see the spatters of red that speckled the floors and furniture.
