Seeing

's gallery got me in the mood to do some serious custom spriting, since I don't think I've done it in at least a year now.
Actually this is the first time I've made a sprite ENTIRELY on the pixel level. Usually, I take a pencil sketch, scan it in, and base sprites off of it.
At this point, I'm just blocking in all the basic colours over my "skeleton" base. Details and such come later.
And no, the head isn't going to be the same size as the skeleton has it. It'll be a bit smaller, and I'll likely end up moving his whole neck and head a bit to the right when I go about blocking those in.

Whoaaa neato. For a second there I thought you were doing layered sprite works [like on several layers using PSP] but THIS LOOKS REALLY GOOD SO FAR
All the parts of the body are well distinguished and shaped. Can't wait to see the finished product

Ah, FvS always finds some way to creep back into people's lives. How ironic that I was thinking of it myself only a few moments before checking my Updates to find this!
Looks good so far! :3 Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Are you going to keep it on a lower bit scale, or will you be going for a higher bit-resolution for shading/highlighting it?
And, uh...everytime I see this program...Of ALL the things to name a program...why GIMP? Just...WHY?
