so beautiful, I almost cried I think. It feel so personal, so loving. The 'living shadow' at first sounds like a dark concept, but it's shaped as something to caring, and is so appropriate, a dark idea for a a dark situation, but living up to the closeness of its reality, very clever. The wings I suppose are a little random, but seem all the more purposeful and personal for that, and also I have a weakness for wing imagery, as my husband has been holding me in his wings since we first met.
It kind of feels like lyrics, the repetition and the use of exclamation marks (which I would normally find odd, but really worked here as they were used sparingly and therefore seem entirely purposeful). So whilst the 'lyrics' aren't overly complex, very 'readable', they hold so much in all of them, because as usual you've made sure that each line holds a purpose and isn't superfluous.
I'm really glad I took the time to read this this morning, thank yor for being brave enough to share it.
