Heaven When You Kiss Me
(A/N: In order to get a full feel of this short, I suggest listening to I’m in Heaven when you Kiss Me by ATC http://youtube.com/watch?v=DYsSU5rrMJI is the exact link I was listening to as I wrote this, and this is based off that song.
WARNINGS: girlxgirl implied love. Death. )
A sigh escaped her lips in the form of a small cloud of air, her warm breath battling against the chill seeping into her bones. She lit a cigarette, puffing on it and waiting. Her fingers going numb from the cold. She wished that she was there to warm them up. But the last time she had touched her partners hands they had been cold. She blew out a puff of smoke, and watched as the cloud drifted off into the wind. She shifted her weight and moved from her criss cross position to dangle her legs over the edge of the building. She could close her eyes and imagine her partners soft scent filling the swirling air around her. At this height, she was closer to heaven. So close she could feel airy hands on her frozen cheeks, and the warm embrace from behind. So close she could hear her own name whispered in her ear. Absently, she noticed she needed to ash badly, and flicked the burned out end into the wind, before puffing on her smoke for a few minutes, allowing her mind to wander. Back to a time in the summer when life was too warm to bear, her palms sweating as she swung the bat once more to hit a home run for her back lot baseball friends. Her face grinning in triumph as her feet pad around the bases, giving a high five to her teammates.
That was when a new pitcher had met her eyes, a baseball cap on, and long blonde hair pulled back into a long ponytail, ice blue eyes challenged her into facing her, and the batter stepped up to the plate, brown eyes blazing with passion for the challenge. Except that she had striked out, and her team had lost to the beautiful newcomer. She reflected it hadn’t been that bad losing. For she had met the girl of her dreams, and the next few months had been filled with picnics in the park, petals from flowers and bits or grass blew around, when they shared their first kiss it was like fire running wild in her body, her hand tingling, she thought she had died. If only she could feel those lips once more upon her lips. Every time, it was like being thrown into the air and being sucked back down to earth again, air revitalizing her lungs.
And now those lips and that kiss were gone. Dead and buried. Stolen from her. For her blonde haired beauty had been killed by a drunk driver. In a sudden burst of anger she threw an empty bottle over the edge of the building, plummeting down to the streets below, alerting others to her Godly presence above them, but she was far to high to hear voices or make out faces. 20 stories was so short compared to the vastness of heaven, and the dark night sky that stretched before her. She finished her last cigarette and chucked it over the edge, and stood up. Putting her hands in her pockets and looking up at the night sky, again she was intoxicated by her blonde’s scent, and again she felt those soft hands pull her over the edge of the building, falling backwards towards her mortality.
Air brushed past her face and tugged her clothes up, and she opened her eyes to the night again, this time, those hands and that scent was there next to her, and she could see her lovers face hovering above her own, hair being blown around them, and when those same lips touched her own, it was a taste of heaven; a breath of air for her depleted lungs.
Her body felt nothing, as those lips drew her upward suddenly, and the building she was falling from was below her. Her only thought was “I’m in heaven when you kiss me”.

This is really well-done, love. I can see it fleshed out into a longer short story.
