Kara and here mother where taken when she was very young to a cell where people where tested with powers (what Skye, Yumi, Jim, Uno, and Dek went threw).
As Kara herself has no powers she got out of there when her mother died. Although Kara misses her mother, she knows she'll see her again and till then lives life helping people and enjoying every day she has. She is poor but doesn't mind. She has one friend, Randy, who she thinks is the best and hopes they'll be friends for a long time to come, his obsession with question marks and all.
