Like, holy crap, I drew something. Talk about hell freezing over.

Recently, I got into reading visual novels, at least ones translated into English. At some point, I came across Insani, who had a bunch of different free-ware ones on their site. One of which was True Remembrance.

True Remembrance is a story centered around trying to "cure" depression, "scientifically" called the Dolor (My idea behind this is a mix of "Dulled Color," or the idea that people who are depressed seem to not be as "colorful" or active compared to normal people. Their emotions are "dulled," in a sense, but that's just me.), mostly the ones that lead to suicide. It is discovered that a group of people (Mnemonicides) have the power or potential to cure people of their "Psyche Corrosion," or the memories that are eroding their self. An example would be if someone left you, and the memory of them kept eating away at your heart, eventually becoming too much to bear, and... These people can pretty much erase those memories. They find these people, take them to an academy, and set them up in an isolated city in order to cure these people.

The story centers around two people: The Mnemonicide, Blackiris, and his Guest, La. Blackiris is a rather cold individual, though some compassion shows when he needs it. He more or less just wants peace and quiet, but still appreciates the life he's living now. He is known as one of the best at what he does. La is a strange girl who is assigned to Blackiris, though why isn't known until later. She doesn't know much about the outside world.

It's a rather heartwarming tale, rather than depressing. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and it's a very good piece of literature. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts (Winter. Those who know my liking for Kanon will not be surprised.)

Click here to go to the site where you can look it up and download True Remembrance. It's free and legal, so go ahead.

La has very light-blue hair, by the way. Not seen here, obviously.
I don't like the hand. It took several tries to actually get the damn thing to look even DECENT, and you can probably still see the lines of the original. Thus comes the problem when only doing face shots.
Yes... the nose is somewhat large. I need to work on side views still.
