Struggling through every one-at-a-time day
Dressing, stressing, repressing till it's routine
Every time the alarm rings it's harder
To get out of bed and not feel so obscene
You know the words they say are just that-
Words you've heard from birth til you're grown
And no matter how you try to claim them
Those words have a power all their own.
Whore, bitch, and dyke - just to hear them
Becomes commonplace, almost everyday
You try to smile, and shrug them off
But there's always someone to make you pay
You just ignore the taunts and beatings
And if anyone asks tell them you're fine
But one day you get hurt a little too deep
Between ignorance and cruelty is a very thin line.
You don't want to lie back and take it anymore
But you know in your heart, what can you do?
If you try and raise a fist to protect yourself
You know the one who pays will be you.
Fairness just doesn't exist in this world
There's always going to be someone mistreated
But there's just one thing you must understand
If you don't let it go, you're the one who's defeated.

i used to lose my temper on random people at secondary school, before i learned not to take so much seriously, and it was usually the same person who gave me the proverbial last straw. Got me in tons of trouble.

In secondary school, before i learned not to take so much seriously, I lost my temper, three times plus on people, the last one to give me the proverbial last straw. It was almost always the same guy. Got me in so much trouble.
