A simple pen test of drawing a few shapes evolved into something I quite like.
I was going to scan it, because this photo of it didn't seem to be quite the way I wanted it to, but now I think it actually adds a bit to it.
Ok, now I can write a bit of a better description. I really needed some practice on my pattern design and pen techniques, so I started this drawing with a single line (I bet you'll never guess which one), and expanded on it, over and over again. After I added the slope with the Roman numerals on it, I thought it looked sort of like a launch ramp, and added a rocket flying off it, followed by the words "can you touch the clouds?"
Shortly afterwards, I thought I'd turn the ramp and the few shapes under it into a sort of mountain, and added a bunch of new patterns and designs to get towards a hill/mountain shape. As I did that, I realized the overall shape of the "mountain" was looking a lot like a human head silhouette looking up to the sky, and completed the shape in that image.
If you look, the head has a nose, mouth, and eyes, despite the fact that they weren't drawn to be such, since I didn't even know I'd be making a head. It's sort of weird how these things come together, isn't it?

My favourite part is the cloud.
I wish I could read the words in the face. I'll just have to see it in real life when I get home :)
