Forgotten Chaos Chap. VI - part 1
Chapter 6 - Part 1
(2 hours after the entrance of the Underground Zone)
The hospital was bustling and crowded with a few sick children, doctors and nurses making their daily rounds, and of course the visitors of the sick and injured. Caracal sat outside the waiting room along with Mewrah and Skate, waiting for the first discharge, J.P., to be released.
“How much longer do you think it will be?” Skate said standing against the wall, as he looked at yet another nurse as she passed by with another patient. Caracal sighed as he watched Skate follow the nurse, counting that to be the 3rd time with the same lady, but is was Mewrah who spoke out instead.
“Must you stare? They’ll be out when J.P.’s finally thawed out and see about getting his tail back on,” Mewrah said slightly unhappy with Skate’s take on the situation. The last few nights hadn’t been great. The ambush in the city ruins, the mistaken attack in the forest, and the unknown battle that had happened between Solar and Ty’.
Caracal got up and looked outside. The underground town thrived for the most part as he had seen on his way in, but sadly it was just like he had imagined, run by teenagers and kids, with one or two adults to help out. He was surprised that this place had even had doctors still within their limits. He sighed again as he looked away from the window that looked down on the town, “How am I supposed to do this? What was I thinking trying to take on Sonic, it’s crazy!”
“Hey, its more crazy if we leave things alone. I mean, who else is gonna stop this psycho from driving the world into its end?” Skate said as he got off the wall and crossed his arms as he looked at the sad state their leader was, “I joined you cause you said you wanted to stop Sonic and save your dad, and if you don’t want to go on, I know others that will.”
Caracal looked slightly dejected and annoyed at this comment back. “I know what I said; I just was saying how can I figure leading a group on my own. We don’t have any plan nor know anything about our enemy really,” he sniped back toward Skate, “and I for one am not trying to send us all out to die.
Skate opened his mouth, ready for a full blown argument, but the double doors busted open revealing Dr. Fiona, along with Blade who was helping a still shaken up J.P. He held up a thumbs-up before sneezing heavily on Blade, who quickly dropped him and ran out the exit screaming, nearly running Shawn over as he joined everyone.
“Well we did what he could. He may have a minor cold for a day or so, and his tail was cut by a burning blade, so re-attachment or growth is impossible, but he should be fine otherwise,” Dr. Fiona said smiling to Caracal as J.P. stood up for the group scratching his nose. Her voice then fell shallow a bit as the smile faded. “The other two are still under treatment and have yet to show anymore signs of recovery. The echidna has actually fallen down worse into a state of shock, as has the hedgehog though we are glad to say that they are both stable and healed. The only thing we can do now is to wait for them to wake up…” she said as her voice trailed off. Shawn put his hand on the doctor’s shoulder as he spoke in her place.
“…Guys, they might take awhile to recover if they do. Both of them have an abnormal brain wave pattern that is causing them to stay in a comatose state. I just checked on them both…” Shawn said before his voice slightly died out as well, at a loss for words as to what he could tell them about the situation with their friends. He quickly found some good point of news, deciding that waiting here would just bring worse problems. “We’ve got Radiant and Yoru watching them both so if anything changes, you’ll know right away. Shadow said to tell you that you’re free to roam the town, though not to try and leave before seeing him and that he has shelter for you set up already in one of the empty homes,” Shawn said giving off a sound to make things better as he started moving to the window and hanging from the wall. “I’m sure they’ll recover fine.”
With that, he left the group as he took flight outside, leaving the others to contemplate what to do.

*elsewhere in the hospital*
“Heh heh heh heh… So how did you like the fight? Fun wasn’t it?”
“… … … …”
“Still not gonna talk huh? You know it was you that did it all.”
“Shut up! That was you; you did all of this just like before!”
“No, that was your hatred and jealousy of your best friend. You attacked out of your own spite.”
“Shut up! You’re lying!”
“Oh really? Then why are you so defensive? Give it up, you know it was you! And each time after its always you. Just like when you killed-”
“SHUT UP! STOP IT!!!”

Yoru opened her eyes and looked down at the blue echidna in the hospital bed, her eyes slightly red from the tears she had shed the last few hours she had spent on healing the two friends, forced to fight to the death like nemesis. She had looked into Solar’s mind before but reading it now was just short of living torture from the outside point and she couldn’t imagine what actually it must be like within.
The hedgehog seemed to have something along the same side within him, but his was hidden deep, dormant, and asleep. She only prayed that his other side never awoken as had this ones. The doctors came in steadily throughout the day, taking various blood tests and check-ups and shaking their heads when they saw no change. The light that was within the city was dimming down just as Yoru rubbed her eyes and looked out the window. Night must have begun to fall and the city watch had begun to power down the main light given to the city to help represent a day period within their underground ‘paradise’. Even when full darkness hit, Shadow had taken the liberty to have small lights in the top of the mountain to make up a small fake night sky.
Yoru stretched in the chair she was in as the door knocked and was opened, revealing a male turquoise green hedgehog with a curled band and a quill shooting up on either side of his head beside two quills going down and wearing some blue jeans along with a white martial arts shirt. He came in and looked at the bed that held Solar, looking down. “Still no change? Same with the other one… though oddly enough, his quill’s DNA seems to have changed slightly as they’ve been changing colors…. Not sure if that’s good or bad yet though…” the hedgehog said as he turned to Yoru.
“Thanks Radiant… I hope these two will make it,” she said rubbing her eyes again as they began to well up again.
The two fell silent as they continued to look at Solar, with nothing but the constant noise of the computer noise monitoring his pulse. Radiant moved back to the door and placed his hand on the door. He turned to Yoru saying one last thing before he left. “Something tells me they’ll both make it through… just remember what you said and believe. If they’re the ones that were brave enough to step up against Sonic, a fight between to of themselves shouldn’t be enough to finish them off.”
“Give them a chance and don’t hate them for just what I’ve seen so far… wait for the whole picture…” Yoru sat back down in the corner she had been sitting in and closed her eyes, listening to the constant rhythm of time as the monitor beeped in a single beat note. The constant flow would slowly put the purple hedgehog to sleep.
