Love Like Moths
There's nothing you could ever say,
Neither things that one could do,
That would ever turn me away
Nor shift a feeling I share for you.
Like moths to a flame,
I'll risk burning for your light.
They drink in the alluring burn and without shame,
They still take flight.
Knowing that on this dangerous night, they crave
Something they'll never feat.
Things that would make them misbehave
Such as indulging in a midnight treat.
Something simple as a glow,
A glare to others not appealing.
But as a moth, I know,
This is real, not just a feeling.
This is something that I yearn,
And even though it may not seem right.
I know that I will burn,
Yet without a shame, I still take flight.
