A prime example of work that was a pain in the ass to do, but payed off big time in the end.

This is a picture of Rika from Phantasy Star IV dressed as X-23 from The New X-Men comic series. The reason for this was just because they had similar weapons (in a way). I spent a lot of time coloring this picture. As you can see, I decided to try and do multiple color tones for her hair. And it worked out really well. (Not that I will do it more regularly.)

Now, on to what I did wrong. First off, her legs. I noticed that they don't look right when I was coloring this picture. Second, her hands don't feel quite right. After all, you all know I'm still working on geting my hands on my pictures to look right. Third, I'm not sure the costure is 100% accurate. But, I only had a picture of X-23 from the waist up to work with, so some of this was guess work.

Fourth, the shading looks great in most areas, but I feel like I should have put shadows where the blades are. It just seemed that no matter what I did, they didn't look right, so I just droped them.

Other than that, this may be one of my best works yet.

The face is pretty wide, as well as they eyes. She basically has no cheeks (or rather, her eyes are resting right in them). Even though I am unsure of the style you were mimicking, the face needs more definition.

Her legs are two different sizes (thickness). The pelvis is off, and in my opinion too far down from the torso.

The hands look pretty much like blobs. There is no feeling of tension in them, or that they are tightly clenched to wield the weapons. I would definitely suggest using more references for your hands.

The blades of the weapons look pretty dull. There is nothing really suggesting they are sharp or deadly. Kinda like I'm being attacked with butter knives. They do need more shading to define their edge, and sharpness. Look up weapons and how they reflect light.

You're going in the right direction with the shading of the hair. However, the bland and thick white highlights just doesn't fit here. Try using a brighter shade of the same color, instead of defaulting to white.
