Here is my character, Vectra~
Now, i AM going to be making a coloured version, but that one won't be posted on this account since i'm reserving this one for expressive art-work only.
Since Vectra is part machine, he is very cold, blank and emotionless. His only desire is for domination of dimensions/worlds. He is very intelligent and spends alot of time designing things that can aid him in his goal for world domination. He is fluent in nearly every computer programming language and uses his knowledge to re-program various machines/robots.
So, to represent Vectra's personality i decided to use 'shades' rather than colours... As i think they best express Vectra's 'blank' personality... And also to relfect his desire for control. Since he's a machine, he often plans things and never looks back to reflect on defeat... i believe that black and white are excellent ways of conveying such a personality.
Also, i really wanted the shades to convey how he is both good and evil...black and white are one of the best ways of showing this. You see, Vectra wants control of everything yes, but he believes his motives are for the good of his own kind. He deeply hates the human race, thinking that they simply use machines like slaves and give them no respect.... So, Vectra is fighting for something he believes is 'right'...therefore, he cannot be truly evil... not like some villains who just wanna kill, kill, kill @.@
The reason i left left him uncoloured is because this best conveys how 'blank' he is : ) Trust me, this guy can only pull off an evil leer.. most of the time, he is just expressionless.
The lineart was a real challenge, so please gimme some feedback peeps. Also, if you have any tips for me, that would be appreciated :3

this is very well done, i personally like how you prtrayed him.
and that makes his expression more revealing. if i hadnt read your comment below i would have never guessed he was emotionless most of the time.
and such a long discription of him must have taken awhile, not to mention the time taken to realize his emotionless charactor.
to give him color would be a challenge considering all the detail in the lineart alone. but what is a picture without a challenge?
and such an emotion given in the picture you've drawn of him seems almost hard to believe he has the desire to kill. but of course hes fighting for a reason
but i would still ike to see the colored version because some of the lineart is colliding together in his machine areas. but other then that this is a great piece, i apologize if i havnt made myself clear in any area of this comment.. and for its size aswell xDD

You're so good at them... The detail put into the arms is just wonderful.
I fail at making constructive comments, but I really do love this picture.
It would be awesome to see such a thing in color, though, I do understand how long it would take.
Still, an amazing job.
