First of all, I'd like to apologize if I put this in the wrong category as I had absolutely no idea where to stash it. This picture was drawn both as a gift for a friend (whom I was thinking of when I drew it) and a possible T-Shirt design to be sold at various conventions that I attend. I won't say much more than that, since I want your interpretations of this piece to be entirely your own.

The Life of Science is an intriguing illustration, raising questions on the relationship between technology and nature, in purely visual terms. LuckySquid has married the elements in an elegant manner--using crisp, mechanical lines in combination with organic textures and earthy muted colors. Shapes merge or divide in such a way that there is no confusion to the motion, making the concept perfectly clear, while still keeping the exact answers open, allowing for speculation and interpretation by the viewer. However, it is clear by the demeanor of the humanoid central figure--with mechanical body and organic mind--that with upturned eyes looking out towards distant somewheres, the nature of the future is ours for the deciding.

OH my FRICKIN' GOD. I am so glad this was the first thing I saw this morning, because it made a good mood for the rest of the day! This is officially my fave piece I've ever seen on SA. It makes me think of Armitage. Everything about this piece is delicious... the design is so appealing and your eyes can follow the shapes from one area to the next and never get bored. If you ever have a print of this, lemme know.

Wow. I kinda ranted there, didn't I? Lol.
