Any relation to any being, company, or product of any company is entirely to parody or show example. I am in no way gaining anything for mentioning them nor do any associates of mine. All characters belong to their respective owners.

Constant light footsteps filled the brightly lit hallway, heavy in contrast compared to the dimly lit lab which the Doctor sat in. Humming quietly as he listened to the foot steps, "They're probably heading to the project now." A light cough emitted from his throat as the foot steps faded away.
Settling into a more comfortable position, eyes slowly reading down the message. He was just about finished with the staff memo. Upcoming shipments, chili cook off on Wednesday, other trivial things. He finally settled down as he came to the part he was actually interested in; the details on Project Hope Reborn. He was wondering why it seemed the Project Director wasn't taking it seriously.
As he scanned the document, several words caught his eye. Crystal King, a recently discovered parasitic crystal, which feed off the mental stability of its host. While doing so, it often boosted the physical performance host, often doubling, even quintupling, things such as reaction speed and strength. The only cost was that the host had the tendency to go "feral," losing control to more beast like behavior. The Doctor continued reading, his eyes caught onto another phrase. Infinite Charge, a short spark of a special frequency of electricity to a host of the Crystal King, enhancing the parasite's effect, and giving the host extremely potent healing factors. Many times, hosts under Infinite Charge's effect could stand bullets up to 70 millimeters in caliber without any visible flesh wounds.
Then one last thing caught his eyes, near the end of the document. The specimen for this experiment was a male human child. The Doctor nearly bit off the end of the pencil he was chewing as he read that sentence, stunned. They were being paid to rip the future out of this child's hands, feed him to the hounds of war. All for a measly pay check and some pride to tack onto their job description.
Syrina spoke again, breaking the silence of the Doctor's shock, "Doctor, you are being requested in Genetic Lab 9-C. The process is about to begin. Please be there within the next five minutes." The Doctor sighed, standing up as he left the computer as is, walking into the brightly lit hallway. As he arrived to the Tramway Station of the building's under ground system, many scenarios ran through his mind. All of them related to the pain the human boy was about to experience, and how karma was going to get back at him for causing such pain. Stepping into the tram, shuffling to a seat on the crowded little box of transportation, he sighed, "Time to play God." The entire trip, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was about to make a fatal mistake.
