“Kain....Kainescold....†Darevan grumbled out into the room in a fogged haze of sleep, lids barely rising over chocolate pools even as his hands searched for the elder immortal’s form.
“Hmmm...?†Was the grunt he would receive, the archaic being rolling over onto his side, lean frame heaving slightly as a weighty sigh emitted from him to shake away the mist in front of his peculiar eyes.
“Kain....Kain it’s cold...†He tried to enunciate his words better, even with sleep circling his throat.
“Hmmm...,†One would have thought he was merely emitting noise again, but this time it was a sign of his acknowledgement to the problem,†Come’ere then...†Silken tone was slightly slurred compared to its usual perfect pronunciation. His long arms captured superior build then, much to Darevan’s surprise, and pulled him in against his chest; one arm around the small of his back and the other across strong shoulders.
“I....I meant get a blanket or...Or something...†He muttered against the other’s collar bone, glad for the darkness that shrouded the room for he would never have let Kain see the slight touch of scarlet on his cheeks.
“Uhuh...Of course you did...†Darevan could hear the smile in silky words, and gave a light snort in response.
But Darevan knew it was true. He let one arm grasp at the elder’s scarred back, left arm bent at the elbow and folded between both their forms so that his hand could rest on a broad shoulder.
Both slipped away to sleep rather rapidly, and Darevan quickest of all...He had not been able to sleep knowing Kain was so close and he wasn’t touching him...All he wanted was that gentle touch that no one else had ever given him, the touch that quelled every adverse feeling that had ever stirred within his chest.
Kain stayed away from slumber just a moment longer, basking in that glow that always seemed to rise in the pit of his stomach and clench his once beating heart every time Darevan was like this...Actually, all that he had to do was look at him and then elder was practically immobilized. And this time the younger one had said his name...Something he barely ever did...It must have just been because he had just awoken, but that still did not change the fact that it felt...special. He kissed the top of his head, and fell asleep with a soft smile curving thin lips.
