Eluna

So about the inspiration for this. I play Wow ever since it came out. I have 3 lvl 60 NEs. 2 of them are priests. Always they worship the NE moon goddess Elune. All my quests, robes, spells and rewards all were from Elune. I began to identify with her a lot. There was one quest I did that was heartbreaking and really pushed me to make this picture.

So I tried to make this picture symbolic of a lot of that. There is a egg sack with Lady Sathra's future generations. An allegorical tree. The staff whos head is made of the alchemical symbol for the moon. The necklace that is similar to a item in wow. Ditto the belt, shoulders and cloak. Of course a spider silk mooncloth robe :) Elune herself standing in moonlight in her fountain with a crystal spider necklace.

Elune is not only the NE, priest, moon goddess. She is also supposed to be the protector of all life on Azaroth and the creator of NEs and druids.

Since I wanted this to be perfect and a lot of it was referenced from wow itself I kinda went crazy with what I allowed myself to use.

In the quest you start a long chain where your doing good and there all easy and short. You run back to Darnassus happy and upbeat and then....

Temple of the Moon: "A once great creature of the forest is in need of help. There is a difficult task that must be done and no one but you can bear it.

Please seek out Priestess A'moora; she will explain things to you. Find her to the southeast of here, inside the Temple of the Moon."

Tears of the Moon:"Lady Sathrah was once beloved of Elune. Graceful and pure, the spider spun her silver threads through the moonlight, catching the evening mist. The silvery dew had strong healing powers and was kept here in the temple and the silk used to spin the robes of the priestesses.

But of late, Sathrah has descended into madness influenced by the fel magics infesting this land. Her future generations are now threatened as well.

Find Lady Sathrah, and end her suffering. Save her offspring. She dwells along the northern borders of Teldrassil, near Wellspring Lake. Gather her silvery spinnerets and bring them back to me."

Sathra's Sacrifice:"Now you must finish the task to which you have been appointed. Take the spinnerets and offer Lady Sathrah's sacrifice to Elune; lay the great spider to rest.

Inside this temple, find the central fountain. There is where you may leave the sacrifice. The holy waters will purify and cleanse the corruption that drove Sathrah mad.

When you have completed this, return to me."

At this point I lay the spinnerets in Elune's fountain and Lady Sathrah appears. She is a glowing happy spider and thanks you for releasing her from torment and protecting her children. I swear at that point I had tears. Then you get Moon Robes of Elune.
