This is another idea I've been kicking around. It was inspired by The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, a show which I was a big fan of. It shares that show's central theme of powerful magic getting into the hands of people who shouldn't be wielding it, but it's intended for an older audience. The Shanahans are a trio of adult siblings who live in Queens, New York. Metalhead jock Dan, 25, and angry nerd Terry, 24, share an apartment and are often visited by their sister, animal-lover Siobhan, 22. While searching for a big, thick book to steady an uneven-legged table Dan got at a garage sale for 50 cents (the same way Dan gets most of the apartment's furniture), the three stumble upon a book of the occult. Unable to resist using the book's power for their own ends, they repeatedly get into trouble because of it. For example, Dan tries to use the book to get a date with the legendary Chick From White Zombie, but screws it up and ends up being pursued by an amorous real zombie chick. Hilarious hijinks ensue, yada yada yada.
