This is an old song of mine that I have just re-recorded, and was inspired by the book of the same name by Aldous Huxley. The song is sung from the perspective of a misfit living in that futuristic world, but craving a life where feelings and emotions still exist. I am including the lyrics for your perusal!

Are you engaged tonight
Will you be seeing somebody
And through the lonely night
Will there be somone to comfort you

They say that everyone
Belongs to everybody else
But I feel so confused
All I want is to belong to you
But I know that you don't want me to

I lie awake at night and think about you constantly
And in the darkness pray you'll come to me

This is a Brave New World
No emotions to cloud your senses
Could this be love I'm feeling for you
Never in this world
Never in this Brave New World

I don't seem to belong
This sterile world depresses me
I should have lived long ago
When the spirit was allowed to grow

But many years have passed
And memories are fading fast
All passion love and jealousy
Just remain a part of history
But I feel they are a part of me

And when I close my eyes your image comes to me so fast
Am I a throwback from an age long past

This is a Brave New World
No emotions to cloud your senses
Could this be love I'm feeling for you
Never in this world
Never in this Brave New World

BlueEyes Says:

Ho my dear gosh.. it's so wonderful! I even got tears in my eyes, because it's just too lovely!
I must say, you'e done a really great work again! Love the lyrics, the song, the vocals and overall the feelings!
My favorite parts were the bridge (I think that's what it's called) and the last chorus.

Da capo!

Cyril Says:

OMG! This is great! I like the lyrics, the melody is cool as well... you have an interesting vocal tone. I dunno how to describe it. Not bad though, maybe its nasally? I dunno .HAHA! Good job, sexy bridge too. 80's pop-rock awesome.

DarKsidE Says:

Nice. This has a lot of potential - soundquality wise. It's a great song and you have a very gentle voice I must say. I only think it could sound even better with the right tools and editing.

Still, good one! :)

wm Says:

Really emotional, I like it.

beethovenbd Says:

very nice atmosphere, though some times the melody and accompaginent seemed to upbeat to match the seriousness of the music

Fitos Says:

Heck, I have almost the same piano (PSR-E313)

I cannot but agree with DarKsidE on this one.

Starsity Says:

I know it's been forever since you uploaded this song, but I must say; my English teacher would be so happy to hear this.
We read this book as an assignment, and someone that was inspired to write a song based on it (and have ti come out as well as this) would make her just so happy.
In fact, I think I'll show this to her.
