Another brand new original. "A Wolf With No Name". I've tried a couple of new things in terms of composing techniques. Using just four way strings this time (Contrabass, Cello, Viola & Violin.) The rest is piano and sometimes chimes and choirs, but overall it's very simplistic, but definitely a piano based song. For this, I have the back of the piano closed, the hammer ons having a bit of a mute, so it sounds a lot warmer. I wanted a similar kinda effect for the piano in American Beauty, and the strings sounds used by Thomas Newman (The Green Mile etc). What do you think of the sound of the piano with the muted effect?
Thanks for listening to my music! Don't forget to rate/comment!

As always, I love it, very inspiring. It makes me think of warm summer days and running in the summer mornings, when the sun has risen just over the mountains. It brings back memories for me.

The muted piano is a nice touch, and works very well by my reckoning. Overall it's a nice, simple and effective piece which conveys a strong theme, oddly reminiscent of summer as Latchkey suggested. What I came up with was along the lines of a wolf ambling through fields of tall grasses and wildflowers as dappeled shade flickers across his face and insects dance from stem to stem, until at last the sun falls into a deep amber haze. Something poetic like that anyway. I didn't much like how the strings sort of 'popped up' and 'dissapeared' though. When they weren't there at all it was a beautiful piano solo, and when they were going in the background it was even better, but it was just that the transition felt too abrupt in my opinion. Maybe I'm just weird like that, but it's otherwise very hard to come up with meaningful critique for things as good as your music.
