Reflection

Sooo…felt like painting a bit, so I did this quick little thing. Short, which is why it's quite rough in the way of sketch-lines.
I think one of the things that I'm getting picky about in my work is the subject, and a sort of…reason behind it. Like making a statement. Before I was just trying to improve, blah blah blah, but now I want to improve through making a statement in the work.
I'm not happy with this for that reason–just when I was finishing up, putting the type in, I got to thinking that really, I shouldn't need to put the type in. Though I do like using type in things, you shouldn't have to to get a point or story across in some form or another. >.>
Other than that, I do like it. I tried to go with a colder skin tone, and while I did apply a yellowed+purple gradient in parts, as well as a yellowed-tone over the skin, it didn't come out like my other pictures–warm.
