Rag Doll

Rag Doll

where stood a shining star,
now stands a mere stone,
cold with winter's chill.
now a fallen angel,
pushed from the heavens
to die amid her own feelings.
a rag doll,
torn and stretched,
shredded and soiled,
loved and played with
but left for fate to play with,
sitting in a mud puddle,
with one button eye.
the little creatures of the forest
now give love to the doll,
but she is too torn and beaten
to give any love back.
she cannot trust love,
nor herself to deserve it,
for when she was new,
she shone with all the brilliance
of the rising sun
and all the colors of her patchwork dress.
now, she wants to be left alone
to die by the muddy waters around her,
diluted by a single tear
from her remaining button eye

TazzFruit Says:

i love this piece, Its really describes human emotion at times. good job.

mercury yume Says:

interesting imagery going on. The two lines:

"loved and played with
but left for fate to play with,"

are quite awkward, and there doesn't seem to be much of a linear progression, that is, this doesn't seem to really go anywhere. But you've described stuff quite well.

Ozzyturtle123 Says:

That's really sad.

Rieal Dragonsbane Says:

Wow. I really like this one. I wrote a story about a rag doll called 'Play Nice'. It has nothing to do with this poem, but perhaps you could check it out?
