Sketch - My mother ... 18?

My mother, at 18 I think. It's a very old photo. Can't even take it out of the photo album or else it would rip. One of the three pics I drew in response to someone being a jerk about me drawing anime.

He apologized later one. He was new to the website, and my art thread was the first one he clicked on so he kind of fired up.

I bet he would have been a jackass if the first thread he clicked on belonged so an anime artist who is 100 times better than me.

I forgave him and thanked those who defended me ... but I felt rather embarrassed over the whole thing so I took some photos and sketched them .... Either to prove myself or to please those who aren't that into anime. I do have a tendency to want to please people.

In actuality, I haven't drawn realistic in years, not since art class in 2001-2002 school year. And to be honest, I wasn't that good. At all.

So I'm a little surprised that I was able to do this when I'm mainly self-taught (having a total of two art classes since middle school doesn't count for much). I think it comes from observing a lot throughout all the years that I was teaching myself.

What's this? I only uploaded two of them? Well, the third one is a pic from my senior portrait. I overdid the smudging and blackened my face, so it's really really bad. Didn't want to upload it to Sheezy. xD
