The Golden Key

A short, blond haired girl no older than 14, opened her shining, blue eyes. As she walked into the kitchen, she saw her mom, her dad, and her little brother. “Good morning Lehenna! What kind of pancakes would you like?” Lehenna's mom asked cheerfully. Lehenna sat down at the table, “Chocolate chip please.” She said sleepily. Lehenna ate her pancakes, got dressed, grabbed a bag and walked out the front door. She took a deep breath, and walked onto the sidewalk of a beautiful town near Tokyo. Since it was a weekend, she decided to go to the park. As she was walking, she stumbled upon a key with strange markings on it. Lehenna picked it up and looked at it strangely.
“It looks like this thing has some sort of ancient writing on it, or it could even be a totally different language!” She muttered. Lehenna stuffed it into her bag and continued her walk to the park. She finally got to the park, she walked over to the beautiful lake that was somewhat in the middle of it all. Lehenna grabbed bread out of her bag and threw chunks of it into the lake. Ducks would gather from all around and nibble at the chunks of bread. A beautiful, warm breeze swept by her and tickled her nose. A dog trotted up to her and begged for some bread too, but all he got was a soft hand that groomed his head. The silence was very calming, but it didn't stay for long.
The dog started to bark and Lehenna was suddenly grabbed by a strange figure in a black cloak and was spun around.“I think you have something that belongs to us..” The figure said. Other black cloaked figures appeared out of the shadows. “I think that it would be very nice if you give it to us..” Another said. “And what is it that you want?!” Lehenna snapped. The figure that was holding her gripped tighter, “That 'thing' is a key to another dimension..” It said. “And if you don't give it to us..” Another added, “You might not ever see the light again.” A shiver went up Lehenna's spine. She started to reach into her bag, but than there was a strange blur of dark green. Lehenna caught sight of what seemed like a man, but with pointed ears and luminescent yellow eyes. Arrows and dark magic was all that was is sight, everything else went into a blur, than darkness.
Lehenna woke up, seeing the same strange man staring out at the sun. He turned his head, “You okay?” He asked. “ It's a good thing I came just in time, or they would've gotten a hold of that key.” Lehenna jumped and reached for her bag. She looked inside, but the key wasn't there. Lehenna than glanced over her shoulder and found that the man was holding it. “Were you looking for this?” He questioned. “Who are you? And why are you worrying about that stupid key? Why did you come save me?” She babbled so fast that she had no idea what she was saying. The man just laughed, “You'll understand later, but we must hurry.” He tossed the key over to her. “Come on, we need to hurry!” Lehenna got up, “Wait! What's your name?” She asked. The man just grabbed her wrist, “Come on I said!” They ran into the forest nearby. When they were deep into the forest, Lehenna saw a brilliantly shining, white door with the same writing as the key. “What is it?” She asked. They stopped, “This is a door to a place where your favorite fantasy books come to life.” The man panted. “That key, brings you to the world I'm about to show you.” Lehenna brought her hand up to look at the key, then she put it in the keyhole. As she turned the key, darkness spread from the hole to each edge of the door.
“Oh.. No..” The man muttered, “The dark door.. Our world is dieing..” He swung open the door and pushed Lehenna inside, then followed after. She felt as if she was falling off an eternal cliff, but to her surprise, she hit the ground. Once she was aware of her surroundings, she did not think about the danger that it was in. The grass was as soft as a warm, winter blanket, and there was a scent in the air that smelled like the aroma of flowers, but not exactly. And she thought she had something different than when she was in her own world, she could feel cat ears, and a long, white tail swishing in the grass. “What..?” Lehenna asked. The man just stared, wide eyed and gaping. “You're.. One of the.. Star Warriors..” He hesitated in shock. “Star.. Warriors?” She questioned. “How many are there?” There was a pause, “There were five.. But they disappeared at the same time as our princess.” He replied. “By the way, my name is Arrion. And yours?” He asked, changing the subject. “ Lehenna, nice to meet you Arrion.” She said.
