Unheard of, I know. I really wanted to sprite Sonic, and there ya go. I'll come back to it later if you guys have any pointers to make it look better. I worked for like an hour on those damn spines before I got them to look decent.
Kudos to people who can sprite Sonic well, because he's not very easy to sprite.

Looks awesome, maybe just fix the contrast like Frar said, and it will be easier to crit.

Pixelwise, I think that the contrast is the main concern.
Characterwise, there is a bit of things that just aren't straight with the character's design. His back spines should be significantly shorter, and his ears are very large. If you don't really care about authenticity of character, the contrast is all that's missing. If you want some really good sonic references that aren't official, search up Skylight's stuff.
