Guardian Angel

They say that everyone
Has an angel watching over them
That flies above their head
And sings sweet songs at night

They are said
To be absolutely beautiful beings
But they have never been seen
And what is beautiful in this world
Is not the same elsewhere

But that all seemed to change one dark night

I blindly walked the city streets
At night, when everything was still
But I heard no song in my head
Only the buzzing numbness of the cold

The night became darker
Things became blurred together
As I stepped out onto the street

And without a moment to glance
Blinding before my eyes
Two flashes of lights sparked together
I was flung to the floor
And the only sound I heard
Was the blare of the truck’s horn

My hands were shaking
And my heart was racing
As I rose to my feet
I saw a couple of feathers
Smeared across the floor

I walked home without second thought
Thinking it was a bird or something

But now all I can hear
Is the weeping of the angels
And I have no guardian angel
Once again

I just wrote this...
the poem (in my opinion) really sucks, I haven't been able to effectively write recently >___<

But the idea was in my head and I decided just to get it out there...
