The Arctic Lantern
This is an idea for a species that would live in an arctic climate. They would live in caves during the day, which is very long in the arctic because of how the planet tilts, and in the long night they would roam outside, mostly for mating. They have very thick blubber, and vestigal fur in some places. The bulbous thing on its head glows to attract flying prey when hunting, and in mating season it glows much brighter in mating season.
Unlike most mammals, the female is larger than the males, and they lay eggs.
