After some scary technical difficulties, I've managed to finally submit my entry just in time for the due date! This is for WhitefoxDK's elemental kitsune contest. I chose to do a fire kitsune, but not in the traditional sense.
This kitsune lives in active volcanoes. It's body is made almost entirely out of molten lava. It's body is shaped by floating slabs of igneous rock. Some magma is exposed as markings and also so it can move it's joints. Red diamonds compose it's eyes and claws, and the tips of it's tails shoot out fire.
As you can tell, I FINALLY got a photoshop-style program called GIMP. I consider this my "final project" for learning how to use it, and I'm very proud of it. I will say, though, that it's pretty hard to shade something that has it's own light source...

and yes, it is hard to shade an own light source thing. Though you seem to got the hang of it quite well!

OH WOW! that's so neat looking! It looks just like molten lava and fire. you did a great job on this. I love the eye goes so well with the look.
