1st: Mononoke - Bring it ON!
I've been meaning to make an avatar of good ol' Kusu-kun ever since I first saw the Bakeneko arc of Ayakashi. I really like Kusuriuri-san's colourful character design, plus his kick-arsery when it comes to fighting mononoke. I found a screenshot that could be used to show a bit of attitude and what you see is the final result.
2nd: Monster - A History of Violence
A practice in A) colouring manga scans and B) scaring the crap out of myself. I find Johan one of the most intimidating and creepy antagonists I've ever come across, mainly because he has manipulated so many people at such a young age. I wanted to achieve a dark atmosphere, and I hope I did.
3rd: Ergo Proxy - Panic
The first of the twin Ergo Proxy avatars with Re-l in them. I'm really enjoying Ergo Proxy so far. I'm nine episodes in and I really want to go out and get the next volume right now. I don't think I did a great job with highlighting the expression on her face, but I really like the finished product anyway.
4th: Ergo Proxy - Neon Depression
The second of the twin Ergo Proxy avatars with Re-l in them. Re-l Mayer sure is one tough but smart kid. I must admit that, like Kusuriuri-san, I like her character design mostly. I was strugling with what to put in the background until I started playing about with the soft-edged brushes and made lights out of them.
5th: Monster - Runge
One hot off the production line, made just a hour before submitting this. Runge has to be my favourite character. Despite his workaholic tendencies, I find him really intriguing. Another practice in colouring manga scans, this one is probably the most minimal avatar I've made.
