It initially started as a practice work based on Raymond's cube tutorial:

http://www.digitalartwork.no/light_shades_tutorial.html

As such there's no real story to it ( unlike my other works wich usually have an elaborated story behind them ). The dragon character ( called "Draghi", depicted here in hatchling state ) belongs to me and the cube belongs to Raymond. I still didn't quite grasp the concept of secondary lightsources, but this has helped me a lot reguardless. And it's my first troully finished CG work.

It was made as a chalange piece over on imagineFX.

"I personally love the warm colors, and I'm a real sucker for dragon pieces. I also like the effect with the sunlight and the dust particles."

Artworks like this are simply stunning. Beautiful blends of detail with excellent colouring and lighting that the artist has spent a lot of time and effort on. This is definitely more deserving of a position on featured art for this week. Congratulations and very nice work, .

What warmth you've put into the colors of this...I think it's well chosen because it highlights the expression of wonderment on the dragon's face. Instead of seeing him as a threatening being, I think the whole composition works together to highlight his true character.
