Since the sunrise/sunset is in front of the character, there shouldn't be such highlights on the back. If you intend the light source to be in front of the character, then there should be minimal highlights in the back. Try using darker colors for shading, and keep in mind where the light is coming from when you shade.
It is cute though. c: Poses from behind can be bothersome. LoL
I would say this is far from Ugly. I enjoy how you drew the clouds. Though i think the sunlight shouldn't be glowing on the back of your shirt, It should be Shadows. Great job i say.
