Arriomark

Here's a feat that's not done everyday... two pieces actually completed in one day that aren't considered classwork. I'm still sick and I figured I can't do anything technical but that I could keep myself in practice and what better way than to do portraits. I thought about doing another one of the color schemed portraitures but couldn't figure out just who to do... then I thought about Jojo's oddball megalomaniac Arrio and how I've also been meaning to draw him up again; and this time, I think I did him some justice.

In a way he looks just how I feel right now, that sickly kind of 'Leave me alone and I won't put my cigarette out in your eye.' Not that I would, I'm just saying. That's why it's great to be an artist, you can come up with crap crazy enough you know you won't do but exploit it through others you can simply make up and draw, it's great.

Because I was so psyched out from being sick and how it's been messing with my head a bit... I think Arrio was talking to me while I was drawing him, the conversation went sort of like this.

"Oy... who ya think yer drawin' today?" The paper notioned in a brash, dark, brooding voice.
"Uhhh." I said aloud as I looked around in confusion and thought about just who I was going to draw.
"OY! Why'n'chu draw your friend Jojo's character Arrio eh? Would be nice huh?" That same voice conjured.
"Sure... I guess."
"Attaboyyy! Draw me lookin' dark and SEXY." The voice hissed pleasantly.
"I'll draw you dark but..." I paused for a moment.
"But what?" The voice asked as I began sketching a pair of eyes, nose and lips which began to move in my mind as I continued sketching.
"You aren't exactly the most comely person to set eyes on Arrio."
"BullSHIT I am! Ladies flock to the scars and cigarette smoke like flies to honey!" Arrio barked.
"I'll take your word for it since I'm too sick to argue with anyone... especially imaginary artwork characters that don't even belong to me to begin with." I replied as the lips began to function completely with the attached facial structure I sketched away on the paper.
"So how're we goin' to make me look boyo?" Arrio asked, though it still sounded like he was putting me down...
"Well you always have a cigare--"
"That's the spirit draw me wit' a nice sqaure inbetween the lips lookin' all SEXY." Arrio mentioned once more.
"Do you really have to emphasize the sexy bit?" I asked.
"Could ye fix my nose while yer at it too?" Arrio asked.
"Ugh! Enough! I'm drawing you how I see fit and that's final."
There was an enclosure of laughter that concluded our conversation and I was left at peace of funky mind and shaken body as what I was doing... I was drawing Arrio...

I wonder if it's cliche to be listening to Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box' whenever I look at this piece now...

Oh yeah! Wouldn't it be awesome if this were a bookmark too?!
