I would offer some constructive criticism, but I think this is pretty good, nothing I would change. I really like that background synth, so no matter what, don't take it out!
The only thing i notice is that the rhythm guitar is hard panned right... try maybe 80 or 75% so it's not so drastic.
other than that, the song itself sounds really great... i dig the drums!
can't wait to hear the final version. ^^
I also like the background synth. It's very neat. Gives it a somewhat spacey effect to it.
The drums seem simple, and I don't mind that. Sounds good to me.

It sounds very heavy in the beginning (but thats nothing bad). And I'm stunned that you even manage to create images in my head with WIP.
btw: There's more on Shepherd and the Maidens Ghost. Just need to type it out and give it a polish here and there.
