Trying to prove to myself that I can still draw. I worked on this on and off during work, then did a bit at home when I could be bothered. Turns out I have forgotten how to draw my pawed-feet, which sucks because that was my favourite part to draw. D:
Blaze as a guy! Because I can do what I want with my characters, shut up I left the iron on! I tried to make him actually look like a boy by changing his hair, his clothes, even his colours. I think it kinda worked, but he still looks girlish to me. Probably because I know who it's supposed to be so my brain's being stupid over it.
He wears a hat because I used to draw Blaze in the exact same hat! Maybe for a laugh I'll put it back on her, but I like the top of her head.
Had to start this over in Photoshop a good five or six times because I've forgotten how to use the bloody thing. I tried my regular colouring style, but I hated it. Tried cel-shading. Hated it. Ended up going to my old friend Watercolour Loaded Flat Tip what-is. Love the fake-paint effect it makes, so it made this a bit more bearable.
Tried to mix in the background colour with the colours. Kinda looks nice, but I'm not sure if I did it right. And please, for the love of God, if I ever decide to colour in the lineart, STAB ME IN THE MOUTH, YEAH? Just argh.
Brushes for background can be found
here. Mmm, textures~!
On a side note: fixed up my watermark. So now it looks more stamp-like. Made it look a bit more like OC, too (torn left ear being the... only thing I really changed on the initial design). And circles are cool.
"Dude" sounds really odd in my head, woooooo!
