Contest Entry - SAGE

My contest entry for the SAGE Amature Games Expo art contest back in 2006. The theme was Summer jobs, so after mulling over the idea for a few days (thus wasting my time) I came up with a brilliant and hopefully valid idea. And managed to win the contest with it. Huzzah!

We all know Big is a pretty laid back guy. Loves to fish, rather have no worries. But in the end the fella's gonna need some sort of cash flow, or just a place to get rid of his large amounts of fish. He can only eat so much, after all. So during the Summer, in the centre of Station Square, Big opens up his own (possibly unlicensed) sushi and noodle cart. Complete with fresh fish daily, tightly rolled sushi rolls, fried rice, and the best noodle soup this side of Station Square!

The Japanese on the sign reads "Happy Cat Paradise Sushi and Noodles", hence the title. Have to thank CK from the NR.org boards for helping me out with the Japanese, seeing as I'm... not Japanese.

I even put in textures in the cart's wood. D: And I just adore the chibi Big and Froggy on the sign. X3 And this is like... the VERY first time I've actually drawn Big properly. Every other time he's like either mutated or robotic, or a child. ._. Same with Froggy, DUN LAUGH AT MY FROGGY I know he looks weird.

And see? I told you I'd do a background! .. Kinda. D:
