My entry for WhitefoxDK's Kitsune contest.
All pencil and ink work. It's been patterened in pen and shaded in pencil as this is meant to be a drawing contest... and in my mind, it doesnt matter bout the colour, its the drawing itself, so I stuck to greyscale to not detract form poking holes in my drawing
Don't know if its clear enough in the pic as I dot fileld the sky, but the kitsune has a sort of tree springing up from the energy in its palms.

Took me a while to figure out that it was coming from the palms.
Though I did think the whole entire patterned space up there was the tree itself
Not a critique on this one, since it still does look like a tree, but a suggestion for next time: Perhaps make the sky lighter and the tree leaves darker? Unless it's a purposely done for an inverse effect.
