Get Pidgin, it allows you to connect to MSN, ICQ, AIM, IRC, Google Talk (aka: XMPP), etc. without installing other programs. Then check out this journal: http://www.sheezyart.com/journal/384682/ - You don't need to install codecs separately if you have cole2k.
