Love the bangles and necklace, they look superb. The skin is lovely too.
But I would suggest a harder look at how you do your eyes and hair, they just dont look as detailed as the rest of your lovely portrait and in my opinion, it brings it down a little.
Luckily they aren't major changes though; a bit more time and a smaller stroke to make the hair look more realistic (not in clumps and with smaller strands) and more smoothness and a wider range of palette in the eye to make it look as interesting as the rest of your picture :)
I hope this helps your already wonderful technique :)
; Ha. That's basically how I color, but you just do it so much better than I do! However, I usually start with the darkest color and work my way to the lightest. It seems to make my stuff smoother and have more depth, but I think that may be just because I'm a lazyass and don't blend in my really dark shadows very well. D: This is just proof that I have to work harder. Anyway, this is simply fantastic and absolutely gorgeous, so thank you very much for sharing your process with us! It's very helpful, but, even more importantly, inspiring. Keep up the good work! You're so talented!
Oh, and, on a side-note, how long did the original picture take you, do you think? I'm just curious. 'Cause I take a HECK of a long time to color even undetailed pieces, and I've noticed that people who do really detailed things often seem to take less time than I do. D: I'm trying to figure out why.
It's an interesting style you have used here.
At first with the colouring under the lineart it looks incredible, but when you remove the lines to reveal a realistic shading style it becomes simply breathtaking. It's an amazing idea, of your own design? Although it looks like it could be time consuming it certainly provides an equal and balanced style including a vast amount of detail and colour, it's hard to find a shading style without lineart that works so well in all respects. Very nicely done and quite professional!
Keep up the good work!
