Nice work on the composition as a whole!
While I do believe it could do with a galaxy or a planet, it works rather well on it's own and looks great for something you just happened to fiddle with Photoshop to create. I really like the addition of the bursts of white, it breaks the monotony of the star field by itself. The level of detail is rather high as well, which is always nice to see.
Keep up the varied compositions!
i think the noise filter did the stars....
