D.S.S.V Asimov Technical Data
Not a race or a faction per se, the "D.S.S.V* Asimov" (*Deep Space Science Vessel) is oft classified as an I.S.V - Independant Survey Vessel - by the authorities. It wanders through known and unknown space, charting unknown routes and analyzing anomalies - conducting the dangerous task of mapping out safe space between worlds and stars to allow for new jump courses to be plotted.
The crew numbers roughly 200 top freelance scientists, all working together to further their understanding on the universe. There are roughly 250 security personnel and 100 maintenance personnel, with another 1,450 general personnel on board at all time - passengers, extra security and maintenance teams, gunners, etc. for a total crew of approximately 2,000.
All are housed within the 1,500 meter-long refitted carrier hull that serves as the basis of the DSSV Asimov.
The refit of the DSSV Asimov consumed a majority of it's launch bays - refitting them into the considerable science labs required of such a vessel - the labs multifeatured and highly advanced, for making leaps and bounds (well okay, baby steps - science moves slowly) into areas of technology that no man has dared tread before. Whilst the Asimov still has launch and docking capabilities for up to 20 fighters, 10 bombers and 6 shuttlecraft, it's launch capacity is nothing like it used to be.
The remainder of the hull is mostly unchanged, though the armour has been upgraded to better withstand the inclement surroundings of most anomalies, in order to shield it's crew from radiation. The Asimov's shielding has also been upgraded - and it has been structurally reinforced.
The Asimov is a good deal heavier than it used to be, but it has greater sublight speeds and is far more durable than the fragile carrier it used to be. It also dedicates a decent portion of it's generator output to powering point defense turrets. Whilst the Asimov has two capital-class guns fitted, they are only brought online during heated battle.
Also, the Asimov's Hyperspace Drive has been upgraded, allowing it increased speed whilst transiting through hyperspace. It also has an auxiliary drive (albeit with much shorter jump range) should the craft ever need to make an emergency jump, or should the main drive fail for extended periods.
All in all, whilst the Asimov appears to be nothing more than a heavily armed and armoured carrier with reduced launch capabilities, it is actually an extremely complex vessel. The ship carries multiple replacement parts and has redundancy systems in place should it's main systems fail. The Bridge is safe within the core of the vessel, the carrier's advanced sensors acting as extremely precise eyes and ears. It makes extensive use of the NovaTech Corporation's equipment - a long-standing and highly reliable starship engineering company, known for their high-efficiency engines and hyperdrives. NovaTech also constructed the original carrier chassis the Asimov was based off of - though the Paladin Mk2 has since been surpassed by the Crusader Mk4.
The Asimov's defensive turrets are positioned for maximum coverage, and the two secondary turrets are deployed with one on the topside, the other on the belly. The Asimov never uses it's 225mm Twin High-Discharge Ion Cannon Turrets unless it is obvious that the attacker is not going to give up easily - hence they are listed as it's secondary weapons. The autocannon turrets fire 25mm shells at hypervelocities, shredding fighters, bombers and missiles alike. They are fully capable of tracking and targeting even the smallest and nimblest of fighters, and their high rate of fire can make short work of lighter capital ships given concentrated fire, thanks to the overlapping arcs of fire on many turrets.
The Asimov is mostly a freelance vessel. It is easily contacted whilst in known space (even whilst in unknown space - the Asimov's sensor arrays are particularly strong), and they are often paid to investigate anomalies and analyze their findings, then transmit them back to their employer. The Asimov's scientific labs are also capable of making limited upgrades and adjustments to practically any system, moderately increasing efficiency, decreasing size, and increasing operating parameters - allowing equipment to use less power, taking less space, and capable of taking more physical trauma or withstand greater temperatures than usual. Suffice to say, their services do not come cheap.

Broadsword-class Heavy Fighter
Designed as an atmospheric and space fighter, the Broadsword is a heavy fighter with an advanced navigation and control system, as well as a heavy weapons payload. It carries a considerable store of ammunition for it's HV-ACs, and multiple missiles and rockets. Two crew are required in most cases - the pilot controlling the main weapon systems, whilst the co-ordinator handles navigation and the unique auxiliary weapons system of the Broadsword; four Sidekick-class Interception Drones. These small saucer-shaped weapons systems are essentially tiny autonomous craft that stick near the Broadsword, assisting it with light pulse laser guns that can aim in nearly any direction. Common operating procedure sees two Sidekicks set to defense (picking off missiles and deterring tailers) with the other two set to offense.
The Broadsword's HiEx missiles are capable of tracking the heat signatures of lower-tech craft (such as simple atmospheric fighters), or the energy signature trails of more advanced fighters. The "Lancer" HV Rockets are extremely fast and almost unavoidable by most craft, making a distinctive deep booming sound in orbit, and recognizeable by their neon-green engine trail.
For emergency landing, the Broadsword is capable of single-shot re-entry, though this should only be attempted by skilled pilots - one false move and the Broadsword is quite literally toast.

Typhoon-class Heavy Bomber
Designed as a heavy bomber to compliment the Broadsword, the Typhoon carries a compliment of plasma and EMP bombs. Often termed "shieldcrackers", Typhoons can alternate their loadout, and a full volley of EMP bombs from a Typhoon can put a massive dent in any shielding systems, as well as play havoc with unshielded systems. The Typhoon is slower and heavier than other bombers, but has unparalleled protection from enemy fighters thanks to turrets mounted on it's roof and belly. As such it requires three crew to operate effectively. The pilot controls navigation and the main gun (a high-caliber autocannon, designed to soften up targets or pick off foolish fighters), as well as the bomb control and release mechanism. The Typhoon is also capable of atmospheric operation.
Specs

NovaTech Multipurposed Shuttle
The NovaTech base shuttle model is a highly modular design. It sees a number of uses, sold in various pre-configured models, and it's base chassis, like many NovaTech craft. Common variants are;
"Prospector" - outfitted with mining lasers and ore retrieval arms, as well as mineral composition scanners.
"Analyzer" - outfitted with material retrieval and manipulation arms, with advanced analytical sensors and enhanced environmental shielding.
"Diplomat" - luxurious passenger shuttles, frequently used by diplomats (unsurprisingly) for short trips.
"Mule" - cargo shuttle with expanded hold. Used for light transit.
"Medic" - repair shuttle for heavy exterior work, such as replacing entire external plates. Manipulators are more dexterous than those of the Assembler, though not as strong.
"Assembler" - heavy construction shuttle used for starbase assembly or capital ship construction.
"Armadillo" - troop transport shuttle; more space than the diplomat, though nowhere near as luxurious. Not a proper troop lander - ideal for boarding action however. Docking clamps and hullcutters optional.
Most variants are capable of multiple re-entries without servicing - except those without safe housings for manipulators (such as the Assembler model) which risk losing their arms during re-entry stresses. All models are also capable of comfortably achieving average escape velocities and safely leaving orbit. Very few models fit weaponry, except in the case of some military shuttles.
