The idea of the Lati@s being griffins-alike has always been in my mind, then I saw an official REALISTIC image of them (it's on the CD with the OST of the Japanese movie) and had the proof of it. If they are griffins, it's obvious they have predator-like behaviour.
And I think it would be great if they ate evil people
Ok they could be fish-eaters, living near the sea... but I needed to draw a human for a reason.
Needed to vent over something, so I sketched the Latios, then I thought the idea could have become something cuter, added the chicks, and finally decided to throw some color on it.
Result: an entire day spent coloring this thing. I'm really proud of it now, even if there are things that would need to be fixed (the nest is horrible...), but I really doubt I'll edit it.

I had no idea the Lati@s were supposed to be griffins, but I guess it works! I honestly didn't know what they were ^.^' May have to find the soundtrack just for that picture.
