This is the typical dress for women in Costa Rica. The plants in the corners are coffee plants. I made this for class, and the subject was culture. I chose Costa Rica because I'm half tico and I wanted to show it a little. I'm going over there after Christmas, and I'm rather psyched to see my cousins.
This took me all evening. And I'm rather proud of its sloppy result.
All colored with Prismacolor markers, inked with Faber Castells.

My mother says the coffee beans are spot-on. I got the Seal of Approval from a true-to-life ex-coffee picker. Awesome.

8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! WOW! I really like this, Mel!You're right, it is a little sloppy, but the vibrant colors and interesting cropping more than make up for it. The only thing I don't like is the black background...I think it makes the colors seem harsh. :/ Other than that, though, it's wonderful!
