Envy

So what I did is that I choose to do this from the view point of a stereotypical guy. (figured it would be easier to do this then think like a women, main because I am a guy) Ok I then ask what would a guy wish or dream he had? Well three things came to mind money, power, and women.

After deciding this I figured I would have all three in my picture. Or at least be symbolized in my picture.

In my opinion envy can lead to lust, greed, and murder. So I decide to make my color scheme red, white, and black. With a few other trace colors. Since envy can lead to murder I figured a grunge feel would be appropriate.

In the tall and thin box you have the dream of women. I figured that a tall thin box would be best because our culture says that the prettiest and most sexy women are tall and thin.

In the box on the bottom right you have the dream of money. I used a brush that look a bill of some kind of paper money. Sadly it can be hard to see it because of the grunge style. I decided to put it in this box because it fit the shape of the box. And it is physically small but it is wanted my almost everyone. One might say it almost has a power of its own.

In the square box you have the dream of power. Now when I think about power one of the things that pops into my head is a quote from the movie “Conan the barbarian” when the character played by James Earl Jones says, “Steal is strong, but flesh is stronger.” And in a lot of ways this is correct because it is flesh that wealds the sword and gun. It is flesh that pushes the button to launch the nuke. So I decide to symbolize flesh through skulls and bones.

The white kanji symbol is the word for dream. Which is why I have been bolding it. And I put where I did because it helps to pull the three elements together.

The red kanji symbol is the word for magic. And the small one next to it is trap. I chose to put these to into the picture because power can sometimes seem like magic to some people. Or it can feel like you have some short of magic. But in the end you have nothing and can end up powerless, which here the trap comes in.

One last side note is that the colors I chose made me think of Nazis while I was working on this, which made me think about dictatorships and how the person in charge often has lots of money, power, and women. And dictators are often times men, which goes back to me doing this from there view point of the stereotypical guy.
