Chapter 2 - The Legend

Mr. Thomas, “Alright class, lets begin today’s lesson. But first off, we got some news. As you all know, To Kill A Mockingbird was one of the requirements of the English reading curriculum, but since the drive of change is being processed, the school board all over California has thought of changing it to this book; The Legend of the Ninja Squirrel. Which might spark some of your interests but I think it’ll be exciting to learn something new. This story talks about a myth where ancient Chinese and Japanese clans combined ideas of different legends and creatures. Now remember this is only a MYTH so don’t take it seriously.”
It was finally the afternoon and I reached home. I swiped the keycard to my house through the scanner. C4, “Welcome home Tammy. Great to have you back.” “Thanks C4. Did I get any messages today?” “Hm… there’s one important one.” “Who’s it from?” “It’s your mother, she wanted to know how you’re doing and such.” “Alright I’ll give her a call.” If you’re wondering, my mom is always on the move. She works for a computer company and is always over seas when doing so. That’s how I got so advance I guess you can say. She usually never worries because I have C4 by my side all the time. Though it gets lonesome, especially when you’re considered the biggest geek in school, looked down upon, and basically a loner. My friends are there but they’re never the ones you can consider on your time in need.
Well better get started on my homework first. I took out the book, The Legend of the Ninja Squirrel out of my bag. The book looked old and musty. Wasn’t the typical books you would think that once added to the reading list, it would be new. I go ahead and open the book and started reading.
“The ninja squirrel is a legendary creature that the Chinese clan and Japanese clan have come together and created. Both of these clans lived in different villages across from one another. What divided them from each other was this tall mountain, highest as the eye can see. This mountain was a signature of the separation of the two villages. The Chinese despised the Japanese, as so did the Japanese, as they were furious of the Chinese. One day, a wanderer visited both of the villages. The wanderer was aware of their famous techniques and rituals. Both villages had a unique aspect of themselves. The wanderer entered both villages and told them a great deal of this power that which he only posses. A power of merging two totally different techniques into one, becoming the most dominant of the world. Many villagers thought he was bluffing, though his idea captured the attention of five villagers from each village. These five villagers were curious and wanted to see and become the strongest of the land. The wanderer told them each five to bring the most unique techniques which they each posses and he will bring the most unique creature to prove his theory was right. They will meet on top of the mountain at midnight”
“That night as both clans saw one another, they were furious. The wanderer soon convince them both that this is your chance to shine over the land. All of you want to become the strongest, I have the power to give it to you all. The clans were convinced and formed a circle in the cave of the mountain. Where in the middle stood a pillar. The wanderer placed a squirrel in the middle of the pillar. The clan members of both side soon raised their hands and spirits started to form around their arms. The wanderer soon concentrated their spirits and it shot into the squirrel. The clan members soon saw the squirrel as it soon started to mutate. Its claws started growing dramatically, its body grew increasingly, its fangs sharpened, and suddenly, the remaining of the spirits wrapped around its body forming some kind of blue and black armor around the squirrel. The squirrel soon stood its ground, the eyes glowed a bloodshot red. Each of the members looked around in amazement but realizes that the wanderer has disappeared. The clan members were outraged but before making any move, the squirrel threw a rampage and blasted the whole mountain.”
