The Nightmare Before Christmas is well composed, with every shape distinct. A range of hues are all represented, but play together nicely in softly muted tones. The warped, fish-eye point of view both creates a surreal, disoriented feeling for the whole piece, and also makes the figure of Jack Skellington loom larger in the canvas, reaching more malevolent proportions. The Pumpkin King has never looked so good as in this fine painting.
