I've wanted to make up a classical-style super robot in a while, and this is what I ended up with. I didn't bother much about making the pic look clean, nor did I bother correcting mistakes (such as shoulder-to-shoulder proportions).
I made this just to try to figure out a color scheme for him. If you have any opinions on the colors I'll hear
For the record, those mecha fans who are freak about details, I won't make it more detailed than that or I'll lose completely the intention of making a classic-style super robot.

I think it looks great. I'm no expert on classic robots so I don't know much about design, but I think the colors all work very well together. I think the fact that you didn't use primary red for the plating and that you used the darker red really helps because it's not overwhelming like I feel a brighter red would have been.
The yellow accents add a punch to the red that would've seemed a bit dull otherwise, and I also like that you added a few orange touches as well. It gives the warm colors a nice variety. I also love the blue for the hands because it plays off of the blue in his eyes and I think it makes his eyes stand out a lot more; it gives the robot a nice, intense look.
Lastly, I think it's great that you used some gray for the other pieces because it tones everything down so that there's variety, but there's not too much.
Whew! Overall, I think the colors are great and they work nicely. Great work. ^^
