Suga clan is one of the 5 clans of the tribe and, probably, the most mysterious one. Members of this clan are deadly nearly from their birth. In the moments of danger their tears, sweat and saliva become poisonous. It's a natural reaction of their organism and nothing can be done with that. In addition to excellent sense of smell and hearing, common to all Wind Catchers, Suga possess as good eye-sight and the ability to acquire the colouring and melt into the surfaces, which makes them excellent scouts and spies.
Due to rather extravagant physical appearance (they have rather pale "thin skin" through which fire flowing in their veins can be easily seen, which makes their bodies look similar to smouldering coals; their eyes are all black without whites), Suga prefer to avoid flashy clothing. Normally on missions and trips they wear hoods, though sometimes it seems they find it amusing to intentionally scare so-called "ordinary" people. Together with Kataoka clan form "punisher" squads.
Although currently headed by a male, Suga Taishou (84), Suga clan nearly completely consists of women.
Hotaru is Taishou's only grandchild and heir to the leader's post. Normally she is rather calm and reserved and sometimes seems spooky. Likes nice clothes and is interested in the techniques of making and ornamenting them.
