Baten Kaitos: Song of Fruition
Baten Kaitos: Song of Fruition
A girl stood in a small lake that had been somewhat drained since it was down to her ankles, but it was still very wide. She had on a dark blue kimono with stars on it and had a pink obi around the middle of the kimono which gave her a large bow on the back. She held up her hands and chanted something very song like. "Oh gentle water flowing around, bring forth thine power and let me leave this world unto which I was granted to the power to live. Open the gate to the other side!” As she said this the water started to ripple and a muddy arch shaped object rose out of the lake, once it was completely out of the water it opened to reveal a blue portal on the other side of it where the girl started to walk towards. "You do realize you must kill them to survive yourself." Said a girl with a completely white mask on her face with two eye slits in it so that she could see. "Yes I do Resiella..." replied the girl as she put her hand on the inside of the doorway.”Then so be it Mizuti..." Resiella lifted up her hands the water around her lifted up out of the lake and started to spiral around above her hands making a gigantic ball of water. "Then take this..." she said as the ball froze and shattered leaving a single card above her hands the spiraled around and floated towards Mizuti. She grabbed it and looked at the card, it showed a glowing shard of ice on it and on the bottom it had the Roman numeral 1. "Use it wisely and for the right reasons..." As Reseilla said this Mizuti stepped through the door and entered a completely different world, one of beauty and light.
Mizuti stood up and looked around she was in a field of flowers that seemed to stretch on for miles on end with no end to them in site other than a few mountains to the east, or what she thought was the east since she could see the sun was rising from over there. She started to walk and as she did she looked around at the flowers that bloomed there. Most were a vibrant shade of pink and some were yellow. As she walked onward she soon found herself hearing a sweet sound, much like that of a violin except for this she heard something that made her want to forget what must be done and go to sleep. She soon fell over in a field and only saw in the corner of her eye, what looked like a small girl with a large flower blooming on her head, which held a small violin and looked completely emotionless.
Mizuti woke up to find herself under a tree in the same field but this time the flowers were blue and purple. “Do you like my flowers…” said a small soft voice from behind Mizuti. She turned around to see the same girl with the shoulder length green hair and the flower on her head, she wore a feathery pink dress that had vines running up the sides of it and around her arms. She looked almost like a living flower. “Who are you and what are you doing in my fields?” asked the girl as she grabbed Mizuti’s arm to keep her from moving. “Aren’t you a little too young to be grabbing a sixteen year old and order them to answer your question?” replied Mizuti as she pulled her arm away and stood up from where she was standing. “Do you want me to play that same song for you again?” asked the girl as she pulled out the bow to the violin. “If I am forced to beat you then I will, and don’t expect any let down on my part, I’m not going easy on a little girl.” “Ten isn’t that little you know!”
Mizuti darted twenty feet away from the girl and as she did the flowers changed to pink and yellow. “They go with your personality as you move amongst them.” Said the girl as she pointed a finger at Mizuti. “Whatever, let’s go!” Mizuti pulled out a Chakram which was tied to her bow on her back and put her hand through the hole in the middle. As she did it started to float on its own and it started to spin at rapid speeds around her arm allowing her to move without holding it. “Cute…” said the other girl as she slashed the bow across the violin and pointed it at Mizuti afterwards. As she did this flower petals started to storm out of the end of it and fly directly at Mizuti. She dodged it skillfully by side flipping to her left, holding out her hand so that some of the petals would land in it. “Useless against me I hope you know.” Said Mizuti as she held up the hand with the Chakram so that it started to spin up in the air without her hand in it. “Water… PRISM!” As Mizuti said this, a large ball of ice appeared above her hand and shot towards the girl who darted among the flowers to dodge the frozen death ball. “Cute attack, but it’s not enough…” said the girl, as she flung the same flowers at Mizuti except this time they came twice as fast and hit her this time. She was sent flying across the field and skidded through the flowers, sending some flying into the sky. “Look at that…” said Mizuti as she wiped a drop of blood from her lip. “How dare you kill them…” cried the girl as she shot flowers over and over again. “You’re dead!” cried Mizuti. “FLOWERING VINE!” yelled Mizuti as a large vine covered in thorns and roses burst out of the ground and shot straight at the girl. “Aaaaaaah!” cried the girl as the vine wrapped around her body and she started to get pulled under the ground until her body was under the ground until it was up to her neck. “Well looks like you won…” said the girl as she glared at Mizuti. “Who are you?” asked Mizuti as she held out the Chakram towards the girl. “Ilea…” said the girl as she blinked towards Mizuti. “Why did you attack me?” demanded Mizuti as the vine lifted her out of the ground and she was held in the air by the vines. “Well you did enter through a giant portal on the other side of the field and I thought you might be one of those people known to kill random humans that have been around here.” Said Ilea quietly. “Kill random people?” questioned Mizuti as she put the hand with the floating Chakram on it down to her side, as the Chakram seemed to look like it was shattering and blew away in the wind. “They seem to kill specific people only the ones with a single mark on their left shoulder, the mark usually resembles a wing…a completely black wing.” “Strange…” said Mizuti as she wiped a spot of dirt off her skirt, she then snapped her finger and the vines shot back into the ground leaving holes in the ground where they had burst out. “Thank you.” Said Ilea as she put her violin away and the bow on her back. “Where is the town?” asked Mizuti as she walked towards Ilea. “It’s over the hill…” Said Ilea as she looked up towards Mizuti. “How did you get your magic so strong?” asked Ilea as she put down her bow from the violin and slipped it into the obi on her back.
They started to walk towards the hill and looked over at what would change their lives for the rest of eternity. What used to be the village Oshpote was now a field of utter destruction. What used to be houses were now starting to fall apart and pixelize. The buildings were starting to fall apart and turn into little squares as they floated into the air. “It can’t be!” cried Ilea as she stood and stared at what used to be a flourishing city and was now starting to disappear into complete nothingness.
